Advanced Practice Providers and care team

The AAN recognizes that each member of the neurology care team is essential to high-quality patient care. We are committed to providing the best educational and professional resources for neurologic advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants (advanced practice providers, or APPs).

Advanced practice providers are becoming an essential part of the practice of neurology. They allow us to follow sick patients more closely and to expand access to patients waiting for initial evaluations.

As a nurse practitioner in the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at the University of Rochester, I enjoy working with a multidisciplinary team of providers to improve the lives of people with drug resistant epilepsy. Providing direct care, education, advocacy, and volunteering with the local Epilepsy Foundation to reduce stigma and improve support services have been my passion for almost two decades.
